Collection: orange
"Orange is the New Red" is a statement that you hear again and again. This type of wine is as old as the production of wine itself. Many suspect in today's Georgia in the Caucasus.
Orange wines have nothing in common with the fruit of the same name. The term is due to the color of the wine. What is not regulated is what an "orange" wine defines, but white or pink grapes are fundamentally fermented on the shell, as with a red wine. After the masification, the must not press on the must, but continue to be fermented to shell, pulp, seeds and juice. The lignine/phenols (dyes) from the cores and shells loosen and "color" the wine orange -colored, whereby large differences can occur here. These depend on the duration of the maceration and the grape used.
Furthermore, orange wines are often reminiscent of red wines through body and tanine (tannins). This enables fewer knowledgeable wine drinkers a completely new enjoyment experience for the eye, nose and palate.
